Video Transcript:
You want to delete a task. It's a task that you no longer use. I'm going to show you how to archive or delete a task. So, let's take a look at this task here. Let's just say that don't like the name of that task and that I want to delete it. Well, my first question to you is: should we really try and delete it and not try something else like archiving it? To delete a task, you click on that task, choose the three dots, choose delete, and then delete. You may get an error, bad request. The reason for that is its already associated with one or more elements. What that means is that someone else has used the task already. For security, to protect users from themselves, when someone's punched into the task already, that task can no longer be deleted. If we go over to the punches section, we will see that this person here did indeed punch into this task. So, I suppose one thing that you could do is go back and delete all of those punches one by one. But, I don't think anyone on the planet wants to do. So, what's the alternative to doing that? The alternative is to archive it. Click on that task, and then archive it using the toggle switch. You will see that the task goes gray. It will completely disappear on the next screen refresh. You'll never see it again; however, it is still present behind the scenes. The only way to get the task back is to recall it via the advanced search feature. From there, you can request to view “any” or “only” tasks. Now, let's say that you created a task and that no one has used it yet , you regret creating it, and would like to delete it. Click on that task that you just created, choose delete. The task will be gone forever. |
